Hi everyone,
đź“© This is Email 1 of 4
Over the next few days, I will be taking you behind the scenes of what could become one of the most extraordinary experiences Magic Voices has ever offered. Each email builds on the previous one, so I would really encourage you to read every email from start to finish.
If you were at choir this week, you'll already know why so many people left feeling so excited.
If you weren't, don't worry. We wanted to make sure nobody missed out.Â
Here is a recap
So...I'd like you to imagine this for a moment...
You arrive in London. You walk along one of the most famous roads in music history.
You walk through the doors of Abbey Road Studios. You leave your bags in Studio Two, just by the Lady Madonna Piano.
Before you even sing a note, you have your photograph taken on the world famous zebra crossing, recreating one of the most iconic images in music history.
You spend time exploring the studios, soaking up the atmosphere and standing beside legendary instruments, including the very grand piano Paul McCartney used to record his Let It Be album.
Then someone opens the doors...
and you walk into Studio One.
The biggest and most famous recording studios in the world. A room where musical history has been made for decades.
You put on a pair of professional studio headphones. The room falls silent. The recording engineer presses RECORD
The red light comes on.
Suddenly...you're not just at choir anymore.
They're recording your voice.
Not somebody else's.Yours.
You're creating a professionally recorded 'Magic Voices Abbey Road Album'
An album you'll be able to listen to for the rest of your life.
Every time you hear it, you'll remember standing in that room thinking..."I can't believe I'm actually recording at Abbey Road."
Now, Most people know Abbey Road because of The Beatles.
That famous zebra crossing has become one of the most recognisable landmarks in music history.
Every single day, Beatles fans, musicians and tourists from all over the world stop the traffic just to recreate that famous photograph.
For music lovers, it's become a pilgrimage.
But Abbey Road is so much more than The Beatles.
For over 90 years it has welcomed some of the greatest artists ever to step into a recording studio.Pink Floyd, Ella Fitzgerald, Sir Cliff Richard, Kate Bush, Oasis, Elton John, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Frank Sinatra,…and literally hundreds more.
But here's the part that is even more exciting...If you love films...You've almost certainly been listening to music recorded at Abbey Road for years without even realising it.
Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park, Skyfall, Paddington, Barbie, Gladiator II, Wicked
…and countless other films all feature music recorded there.
John Williams has stood in that very room conducting.
As a musical theatre choir, that's something pretty special.
Because we'd be making music in exactly the same space where some of the world's greatest orchestras, composers and musicians have created theirs.
And here's what makes this project even more exciting. This won't simply be a recording of stuff we already know.
Andy is already planning to write exclusive new arrangements especially for this project. Arrangements created specifically for Magic Voices.
Learned together -Â Performed together -Â Recorded together.
Creating something that has never existed before...The Magic Voices Abbey Road Album.
This isn't about visiting Abbey Road. It's about leaving our own musical footprint there.
It's about becoming part of its story...and creating something that will always be part of ours.
Some experiences stay with you forever and IÂ genuinely believe this could be one of them.
Not because it's exclusive and not because it's expensive.
But because opportunities to record your own professionally produced album at Abbey Road Studios simply don't come along very often.and because of the scale, cost and complexity of organising something like this, I genuinely don't know whether Magic Voices will ever be able to offer an experience like this again.
If you've ever dreamed of recording at Abbey Road -This could be your opportunity. Okay so what's next? In Email 2 of 4, I will explain exactly how we are hoping to make this happen. It's a little different from a normal choir event, and once you understand the process, it'll all make sense.
Until then...Please keep an eye on your inbox.
