Hi everyone!
I hope you've all had a great summer and are raring to get back to Magic Voices next week. As we all know, choir is not just about making music, but also seeing familiar faces and catching up with each other, and I'm sure we have all missed that over the last 4 weeks.
It's going to be a busy term, as all my choirs have concerts on the radar, and, as usual, we look forward to welcoming tasters in the first couple of weeks. I know I always say it, and I know I never have to - but please be your usual warm and welcoming selves, particularly by trying to help those who may be struggling to follow the music. Also, please excuse the usual speeches from me to the tasters about how to join etc - I know you've heard the same thing a thousand times!
Andy has put some cracking arrangements together for this term, which I know you will all love singing, and, if we learn them quickly enough, i don't see any reason why they can't go into this term's concert programmes. They are not difficult to learn, but at the same time are challenging enough to keep you engrossed!
So here is the programme for next week:
YOU WILL BE FOUND
ONE DAY MORE - from Les Mis - it's a corker
DEFYING GRAVITY - keynote song from Wicked
ANTHEM
The opener and finisher will be in all your concerts this term, and are a chance for you to show the tasters what you can do! In the next few weeks I will be mixing the 2 new songs with all the other material learned in the last couple of terms, which will form the programme for concerts this term, thereby keeping everyone happy (although that is never a given, haha!)
Please can my usual meeters and greeters confirm that you are available to help with tasters, and be there to help me set up from 7pm. Many thanks.
Can't wait to see you all - I've missed you!
Andrew x
