CHORLEY PROGRAMME 28.11.24 AND CROSTON DETAILS

Hi Chorleyans

Thanks for tonight. Even though numbers were small (due to the blizzard outside!) you sang really well. Let's hope it's not as cold in Croston next weekend, although I am assured by those in the know that it never snows in Croston! But seriously Chorleyans, you always deliver and just get on with it, no matter the circumstances.

Next Thursday we will run your Croston Christmas programme and, as usual in order to prepare you for concert conditions, we will stand for 45 minutes (unless you can't or you're not doing the concert in which case you can be very smug and stay seated!).

The running order is as follows:

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS

XMAS CAROLS MEDLEY (Silent night etc)

LET IT GO

O HOLY NIGHT/SOMEWHERE IN MY MEMORY

I LOVE CHRISTMAS DAY

FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK

SEASONS OF LOVE (second half of the Rent medley)

CHRISTMAS MEDLEY 2017 (Silver bells etc)

WALKING IN THE AIR

SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW

WINTER WONDERLAND

HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS - encore

As always, please make sure all your music is in the right order. The rest of the rehearsal will be spent on DIRTY DANCING.

Here are the details about Croston.

VENUE - St Michael's and All Angels Church, Church St, Croston PR26 9HA

DATE - Sunday 1st December 2024

START TIME - 2PM - please be there by 1.45 at the latest

FINISH TIME  - 2.45PM

PARKING - please do not drive into the village itself as there is no parking there (unless you have made prior arrangements with Philippa Guiness). Parking will be at Bishop Rawstorne Academy, Highfield Road, PR26 9HH. Please park there (the road will be closed further down to traffic) and the church is then a 5 minute walk from there. Walk out of the car park and turn right. Follow the path , you will pass a war memorial on your left (at sharp right hand bend ) you will then come to The Grapes pub on your right. Church street is directly opposite - walk down here to get to the church.

DRESS CODE - CHRISTMAS WEAR!!! Tinsel, antlers, flashing jumpers (ahem!!!), the more Christmassy the better - please feel free to wear uniform if you have it, but jazz it up with Christmassy stuff. You are not confined to red and black for this performance!

For those new members who have never done this gig before, you are in for a treat as it is a lovely venue with terrific acoustics, and there is plenty to look at at the village fair afterwards.

We stand at the front of the church and space is limited, so please be prepared to "snuggle up" to each other! My speaker will be on a stand at the back and, just a warning, for anyone standing near, it is loud - but it has to go there for the benefit of the audience. Please try to stand as approximately as you do at rehearsal, so members who like to stand at the back, please don't suddenly rush forward to stand at the front! Members choose where to sit at rehearsals for a reason, and those same reasons apply at concerts too. When we have finished, please try to move off as fast as possible as Red Admiral Band are on after us and will have to set up their chairs and stands.

I think I've covered everything, but if you have any questions please ask me next Thursday - WE WILL BE BACK AT ALBANY NEXT WEEK.

See you next Thursday.

Andrew x
