Harpenden December 13th Festive Concert Arrangements

Hi everyone, hope you’re having a good week. Thanks for another great rehearsal on Monday. The schedule for Monday 13thDecember will be as follows:

8.00-Warm up/sing through a couple of numbers (any guests who arrive with you to wait in the foyer if possible where there will be some chairs and mince pies 😁)

8.30-Doors open. Depending on numbers, we will look to start the concert as soon as everyone’s in.

Programme Order:

· It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

· Baby It’s Cold Outside

· Let It Go

· Winter Wonderland

· Christmas Carol Medly

· A Million Dreams

· Christmas Medly 2017

· Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas-LOW

As always, if you can bring your own music, that’d be great and if you need copies printing, I can do so at £1 per number but please let me know ideally by the weekend so I can arrange this.

I’m so looking forward to sharing some Christmas joy with our guests but want to make sure of course that we proceed as safely as possible under the circumstances and whilst there are no current official government guidelines regarding concerts and gatherings, there are steps we can take to keep everyone as safe as possible.

Please can all guests make sure they are covid-symptom free and take a Lateral flow or PCR test before they attend. I would also like to politely request masks are worn by guests unless they are exempt. This is currently being practiced with theatre and concert audiences all over the country as a precautionary measure. We will make sure the place is adequately ventilated as best as we can. The heating issue has been reported and we are told it will be sorted for Monday. The choir will be set at a safe distance from audience members so no need for masks but you are of course welcome to wear a mask if you wish to. Can guests also please observe social distancing where possible. We will attempt to set out the chairs and advise sitting accordingly. Hand sanitisers will be available at the entrance and in the hall and use of these encouraged.

Please can you let me know the name of 1 guest per choir member as soon as possible. As much as I would love to have anyone attend, I'm also aware of the limit we have on space. There may be some slight flexibility on this within reason, depending on numbers or if people are happy to 'donate' their allocation so the sooner I hear back from you all and can start to compile a guest list, the sooner I'll have a better idea of space for extra guests :)

Some of the ladies in the choir have very kindly offered to bring some mince pies for our guests which will be available at the entrance to the hall. I will also bring a tub of chocolates but people are also welcome to bring their own refreshments/beverages for their own usage, as are you all of course! I have been informed that alcohol is not permitted on site.

Most importantly, Christmas jumpers and festive wear are mandatory or at the very least, strongly encouraged!

Finally can I just take the time to say what a wonderful time I have had working with you all and making some glorious music this term. Thank you again for being so welcoming and brilliant. Really looking forward to ending this term with a lovely celebration of our fantastic choir as well as spreading some Christmas joy to our guests.

Look forward to seeing you on Monday. Have a lovely rest of week :)
