Magic Voices Sutton Coldfield, WB 09/03/2026

Hi everyone,

Thank you for another really enjoyable rehearsal last night.

Firstly, a huge well done on Defying Gravity. It is so close now and sounding awesome. Thank you for sticking with it – I know it’s been a bit of a slog at times, but it’s really paying off and the result is fantastic.

Also a great start on the Beatles Medley. We nearly made it to the end of Penny Lane, which is a brilliant start, and I’m really looking forward to getting to Yesterday next week!

Our plan for next week will be:

Sing-throughs

• You'll Be in My Heart

• Mister Blue Sky

• Don’t Stop Me Now

Focused work

• Final touches on Defying Gravity

• Quick polish of California Dreaming (if time allows)

• Continue working through Beatles Medley

If you happen to have a few spare minutes during the week, it might be nice just to have a quick listen to Yesterday or glance at your part. Each voice part is doing something quite different, so it will help the piece come together more quickly when we start it. You might also notice the multiple “suddenly” entries at letter G (bar 48) – there are quite a few of them!

A couple of quick notes about upcoming events:

Please keep Saturday 6th June in mind as we have been invited to sing at the Streetly Summer Festival again. More details to follow.  Thanks Judy!

Also, Jane and I have been looking at the possible Grand Central dates in May, and the 9th or 16th May might work best for numbers, (the 23rd falls at the start of half term.) We’ll have a quick chat next week and see what availability looks like.  Thanks Jane!
