The Chadkirk Chapel is accessed via Vale Road, Romiley

Just off the main Otterspool Road (A627) from Marple to Romiley. I cannot give a postcode because you cannot access the chapel by car – as Vale Road is a single track, no through road so a short walk is required for most of the choir. You cannot access the chapel via Romiley despite SAT NAV telling you so unless you are on a bike or walking. However, there are a limited number of parking spots opposite the chapel for those setting up or who have issues with mobility – but we need to encourage those who can walk up the road, to do so. Also for setting up you can either park opposite the chapel or inside the disused farm courtyard opposite (just behind the chapel).

Directions to find the chapel are as follows:

If you are coming out of Marple - head towards Stockport - past Marple Hall school turning to the traffic light junction. Turn right on Otterspool Road (the A627). Go past Dobbie's Garden centre and a sharp bend in the road – and then take the next right turn – signposted to Chadkirk business park and Chadkirk country estate.

If coming from Stockport – come along the A626 Hall Street – past Offerton and continue straight through all traffic lights for approximately 3.5 miles - along the A626 which turns into Marple Road. At the traffic lights with a right turning to Hazel Grove – go straight over but keep in the left lane so that at the next traffic lights (Dooley Lane/Stockport Road junction) you can take the left turn onto Otterspool Road (the A627). Go past Dobbie's Garden centre and a sharp bend in the road – and then take the next right turn – signposted to Chadkirk business park and Chadkirk country estate.

Parking options

As you turn off the main road to Vale Road – you will see some terraced cottages to your right and a small right turn to Chadkirk Business Park. Continue past that turning and the entrance to the main public free car park is on the right. This should normally be sufficient for us, but it is Romiley Show on the same day, just across the road, so visitors to that may try to use this car park instead. If you cannot get into this car park – there is a car park for the business park – that is accessed via the turning you passed before the car park – as it is a Sunday – there should be space there. From either of these spots – you do need then to walk the final 700-yard distance from the car park along the single-track road (approx. 10 minutes' walk).
