PROGRAMME FOR APPLETON, MACC AND CHORLEY WEEK BEGINNING 4TH SEPTEMBER 2023

Hi everyone!

Hope you have all had a great summer, weather allowing, and that you all got some kind of a break. At least you've had a break from me!

Hope you are all raring to go and suitably energised for what will be a busy term.

I'd just like to remind you of some concert dates this term:

CHORLEY - Sat October 7th 7pm St Lawrence's Church - CHORLEY LIVE (any Appleton gents to assist please!)

APPLETON - Sat October 28th Lymm Baptist Church - MAIN CONCERT

CHORLEY - Sun 19th November Chorley Town hall (Lancastrian Suite) - CHORLEY MAIN CONCERT (any Appleton gents to assist please!)

MACCLESFIELD - Sat 25th November St Michael and All Angels Church - MACC MAIN CONCERT (Any Appleton gents to assist please!)

CHORLEY - Sunday 3rd December Croston Church pm - 45 min Christmas set

MACCLESFIELD (morning) and APPLETON (afternoon) - Saturday 16th December TATTON FARM - 3 20min sets of Christmas music

SO LOTS HAPPENING!

We will also have some tasters in the first 3 weeks of term, so any help meeting and greeting would be appreciated. They will be aware that we are rehearsing for concerts from the get-go.

Programme for next week for all 3 choirs is as follows:

THIS IS ME - we finished this in the last session before summer so let's see how much you've remembered!

ONE VOICE - we got to bar 26 before the break (Appleton, a little further I think) so we'll recap and then hopefully learn to the end - this will provide some "from scratch" learning for the tasters too SOUTH PACIFIC - as I've mentioned in the past, there won't be time for me to teach the medleys from scratch, so "New in 2023" members please try to prep as much as you can in advance. But I will go slowly and there will be time to stop and recap complicated harmonies. Hopefully in this session we can cover "Some enchanted evening" and perhaps a bit of "Happy talk".

PERFECT to finish off.

Can't wait to see you all next week!

Andrew x
