Stafford - 7th September

WE ARE BACK!!! 🎉🎶

Hi everyone!!!

I hope you've all had a fantastic summer break and enjoyed the lovely weather we've had! ☀️

It feels like 73 years since we were all together, but WE ARE BACK this Monday 7th September , I really can't wait to get everyone back in the room and singing again!

We have quite a lot to look forward to over the next few months... new music, new members, Abbey Road!!!!!!! and, of course, our BIG concert on Saturday 28th November! 🎭🎶

So the Summer holidays are officially over... and it's FULL STEAM AHEAD! 🚂😂

🎄 AND...Drum Roll... STAFFORD'S FIRST CHRISTMAS PARTY!!!

Yes... we're having one!!! 🥳🎄

We have already started planning our very first Magic Voices Stafford Christmas Party, and I think this could be one of the big nights of the year!

So start thinking fun or fancy... get the party frocks out, add a bit of glam, a bit of sparkle, embrace the Christmas spirit - and if you want to go full Santa Claus, that is entirely your prerogative! 😂🎅✨

Hannah will shortly be putting a poll on our Facebook group so that we can start getting an idea of numbers.

I'll also have a quick show of hands on Monday night, so keep your eyes peeled for more information! 👀🎄

👋 MONDAY'S BIG TASTER NIGHT...

There will be LOTS of new faces coming along on Monday evening.

I'd really like to get our new people sitting amongst the choir and fairly near the front so that they feel part of everything from the moment they arrive.

You are all fantastic at making new people feel welcome...A friendly hello, helping someone find the right page or simply having someone beside them to sing with can make such a difference when somebody walks into a choir for the very first time. :)

This is just as much YOUR big welcome back night too! I've honestly really missed having you all together, and I really think you will love the new songs...

🎭 TWO BRAND NEW MEDLEYS!

We will be getting stuck straight into TWO fantastic medleys that we'll be working towards for our November concert.

🌎 COME FROM AWAY

I can't begin to tell you just how incredible this is!!

Come From Away tells the remarkable true story of thousands of airline passengers who unexpectedly found themselves stranded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, following 9/11, and the extraordinary kindness shown to them by the local community.

Our medley brings together two brilliant songs from the show and has some absolutely fantastic harmonies in it. It's uplifting, moving, full of energy and I think it's going to sound incredible with Stafford!

I'll tell you a little more about the story behind the music on Monday. :)

🦁 THE LION KING

We're also starting The Lion King Medley, beginning with the beautiful Can You Feel the Love Tonight, written by Elton John with lyrics by Tim Rice. We will even be doing some African chants!!!!

The full medley is quite substantial, so you DO NOT need to print the whole thing for Monday unless you are happy to.

For this week, we're only going to need the first section, so you can just print those pages for now if you'd prefer.

Alternatively, if you'd rather have the complete medley printed and ready to go, you'll be able to buy a full copy from me.

🎶 AND FOR A GOOD OLD SING-SONG...

Obviously we can't invite a room full of new people into Stafford without showing them what you can do! 😁

So please also bring:

🎭 OUR BIG STAFFORD CONCERT – SATURDAY 28TH NOVEMBER!

And THIS is where the real work begins...

We now have three months until Stafford's first major Magic Voices concert, and from Monday onwards we'll be working towards putting that show together.

We've already built a fantastic repertoire, we're adding some brilliant new material, and now we get to start shaping all of that into a proper concert.

I'll be sending you a separate concert email with lots more information, including plans for the programme, auditions, solos and more!

For now, let's get Monday's big taster night under our belts and get everyone singing again.

😊 FOR MONDAY...

There's absolutely no need for Magic Voices T-shirts or concert clothes - just come exactly as you normally would.

Bring your music, water and your usual humour! 😊

If anyone needs anything printing, please do let me or Annie know.

See you all Monday!!! 🎶🎉

Mike 🙂
